MENTORING AWARDS

 

We believe in the power of teachers as mentors who help guide, support, motivate and cheerlead students. A mentor may take the time to help a student think about “the big picture” and discuss possible careers, work on goal setting, help students develop business contacts and find resources to help with their future goals.

 

Each year the Roaring Gap Foundation recognizes one teacher and one principal from each of the four Alleghany County Schools who has done the most during the school year to mentor students. This award is presented by teachers to teachers within the Alleghany County School system and comes with a cash prize donated by the Roaring Gap Foundation.
